From the Press Release:

Automotive artist Michael Irvine puts you right in the middle of the action as these powerful V-8s tear up the street in the excitement on Woodward Ave. Including all four colors the car was available in during 2003 and 2004, the scene captures the sinister Mercury Marauders as well as their law enforcement counterpart.

Known for his use of high impact colors, this will be one of Michael's most luminous watercolor paintings. Set against the darkening dusk sky, the green glow of the famous landmark restaurant illuminates the aggressive lines of the black modern muscle car. It closes in on the front runner, reflected in it's bumper. Acting as a perfect mirror, the Marauder's black door reflects another car flanking the driver's side ... the 'cruise' is in high-gear!

MICHAEL ON "MARAUDERS OF WOODWARD"

"The definition of a Marauder is 'a rover in quest of plunder; a raider; one who pillages.' In essence an outlaw or thief - in this case, stealing the scene - as all eyes are drawn to it.
Set on Detroit's Woodward Ave., several factors contributed to my choosing the location. Once a year thousands of cars and millions of people from all over the world are drawn to this infamous strip of asphalt to witness an eclectic range of vehicles, hear the high revving engines and take in the sweet aroma of burning rubber and high-octane fuel.
Spectators are treated to crowd pleasing burnouts and when traffic permits, quick accelerations. Many onlookers position themselves along the curb in their lawn chairs, armed with buckets of water ... waiting for the right car and the right moment. They throw their water across the road daring the drivers to perform for them. And although doing a burnout will probably cost the driver a ticket, some still step up and put on a show. The police are happy to write them up, earning revenue for City Hall, while giving the drivers a great Woodward Dream Cruise souvenir ... a stunting ticket! It's a win-win all round and it's within this spirited environment that I based the painting.
Finally, it's with Marauder enthusiasts in mind, that I chose the familiar landmark, Duggan's Irish Pub, as the backdrop to help define this location on Woodward."

Here are the details....

This just in as of 5-3-09:

In an effort to get this project off the ground sooner, and the print done quicker for us, Linda told me they are going to throw in an 8.5 X 11 reproduction of the concept art! She said that this is the FIRST and ONLY time that they have done this. This will be nice enough to frame up and display next to your full sized print. Everyone that has placed an order by May 17th will get one. They are eager to start this painting for us, and if he starts by mid May, it will be in our hands that much faster. Very sweet.

Just to sum it up, they are offering the club the special offer of $100 to preorder the print. This includes shipping. If you preorder the print, it will be co signed by Steve Babcock. You can reserve a print number by emailing or calling Linda Irvine, the number and email are listed in the post above. They offer different print options as well, so be sure to visit the link and check it out. If you want a certain number, Linda advises NOT to wait, as "good" numbers will go fast. If you have any questions, post up here and I will answer them.

This price is $45 off the regular price, and you get it co signed by Steve! I think that the sooner we hit the 100 sold mark, we could get this done faster, so don't make me wait! I have been working on making this happen for almost 2 years! I can proudly say my order for print #002 (Trilogy Number) and Print #273 (VIN) have already been placed.....Now it is up to you. Hope you like it.....

Charlie,

Only a few orders have been placed, so you have a VERY good chance of getting #67. Call or email Linda at 1.800.361.5484 or autoart@michaelirvine.com, tell her you placed your order and want #67.

For those that order online via pay pal, the link has a comments section asking if you want a specific print number to request it right then and there, that is what I did. I am the proud owner of print #002 (Trilogy number) and #273 (VIN), yep, bought two. Mike has #003 and #023. Steve Babcock has #001, which is well deserved.
