Twin Turbo V10 Grand Marquis - Now on eBay
Well, the time has come for me to seperate from this vehicle and move on to another... I am looking for $8,750obo and willing to discuss transportation options.
Track Video ---- Go to the 45 sec mark Car Pics 1995 Grand Marquis Remote Start / Alarm Line Lock XM Satellite Radio CD / MP3 Twin Turbo Triton V10 - 470+ RWHP - approx 550 ft. lbs (not 100% sure on Torque) - Custom tuned by MC Racing in Kansas City - Has flip chip installed, but only one program - Turbos are from a 1985 Turbo Coupe (Remote Mounted) - .63 Exhaust housing - Turbos were rebuilt prior to install 3-yrs ago - AEM Programmable Boost Controller - Water / Air Intercooler - Snow Performance Methanol Injection (http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=8) - 42lb Injectors (Pump Gas) Ford 4R70W Transmission - Baumann Transmission Control http://www.becontrols.com/products/products.htm 3.55 gears Best time is 11.74 at 116 MPH (many, many times) - I have not raced it since the new motor. I have only driven it as a daily driver, as I didn't want to mess with it. I also replaced the "original" V10 about 18 months ago with a fresh '03 motor because the "original" spun a rod bearing after 160K of use. The current motor has about 60K on it and only 15K in this car. I still have the "original" V10 and it will come with the car along with the extra wheels, drag slicks and skinnies. ...and sorry, I am not interested in trades. It is a great highway car and a fun DD. I actually drive it too work 2-3 days a week and drive it on the weekends as well. In addition, I have personally taken it on a 300-mile road trip without any issues what so ever. I would say the MPG is much like our SUV and estimate that it gets about 14 in city and 17ish on the highway. When I took the road trip, I got about 18 MPG.
The car drives just like a normal Marquis would until you decide to open it up! If I am just running around town, I use 87 octane gas and the car doesn't complain. If you know that you are going to the track or are going to really have some fun, then you might want to put some 91 octane in, but you don't have to... As was previously mentioned, it also has Water / Air Intercooler that is available to be turned on via a switch inside the glove box. It has a boost controller with three available settings ("off", 1 and 2) that allows you to easily "turn on" the boost at the push of a button and then add a little methanol to the engine with the flip of a switch. I currently have the boost controller set to around 6.5lbs (setting 1) and 10lbs (setting 2) of boost when it is on and the system will produce 3lbs of boost when the controller is turned off. As for the normal features of the car, everything is there and functioning... A/C blows cold, heat blows hot, Cruise Control works (although a bit interesting with the combo), radio functions (XM available and installed), Rear Defrost, Remote Keyless entry with alarm and Remote Start for those cold winter days. As for the snow, we do get our share of snow and it performs decent with the proper weight in the trunk and presuming you are smart about how you drive it. However I also have a Mercury Mountaineer, so I typically avoid the situation and use it. I can't really put into words how much fun this car is and how much attention it gets. It is known around many of the racing and car circles throughout the US and has seen some page time in Hot Rod magazine during their coverage of Drag Week. If the previous owner hadn't already pruchased a couple more projects, I know that he would have already bought this back from me in a heartbeat. He has already commented on it via the Hot Rod Forums (http://forums.hotrod.com/70/7619387/...uis/index.html) I have also included another picture that might provide some additional excitement!! ![]()
